description: The original location of St. Joseph (1865) was just north of the airport. Mill Point/Simonsville (1866) was south of it, near the Cooper Street bridge. Originally, Mill Point was a dependent branch, but in 1867 the congregations were merged. After a major fire at the St. Joseph fort, and possibly some water issues, the entire settlement moved to Mill Point in 1868 (possibly the future location of Overton), which was renamed "New St. Joseph." The entire settlement was abandoned with the rest of the Muddy Mission in early 1871, with most members following Bishop Daniel Stark to settle Mt. Carmel
