description: Church representatives bought Jacob Spaulding's mill in 1841 to cut lumber for the Nauvoo Temple. Members included apostle Lyman Wight, Alpheus Cutler, Peter Haws, Tarlton Lewis, Jabez Durfee, Bishop George Miller, and Pierce Hawley. Many of the members followed Lyman Wight to settle in Texas in 1846.
