Brown reported in his missionary letter that John E. Page came to minister. They organized a branch in Porter with brother Nathaniel Foster as presiding elder and Barker clerk. They ordained four elders, one priest and one teacher. Hiram taught school at Koskonong. James Blakeslee and Jared Carter held missionary services in 1866 and Samuel Powers held monthly sacrament services in the homes.
