description: In 1840, Norwegian families from Telmark settled near Lake Muskego in Waukesha County. “In November 1844 Gudman Hougas and myself were chosen and set apart to go to Wisconsin to preach the Gospel. We began our labors in Muskego among the Norwegians there. Here we met the Danielson’s and Lars Heier, five of his son’s and two of his daughters joined the church. Brother Danielson his wife and his brother Enoch also joined the church. Here we organized a branch of the Church and Brother Danielson was called to preside over the Branch.” <br/>?
