description: Members of the “New Organization” gathered for the April 6, 1859 general conference in a barn at Beaverton, but there is no mention of a branch there. At the October conference, a Beaverton Branch is reported. Various scattered members gathered in this area and affiliated with the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Many came from Capron just east of the branch. The members had meetings during the winter in a log schoolhouse. In the summer they met in the grove on the east side of the village. Organized by Zenos Whitcomb. The branch was merged with Marengo Branch in 1875. Members: john and Melinda Tyson, Charles Jones, William Butcher, Horace Bartlett, Margaret Ann Bartlett, A. B.
