description:Carl W. Lange visited Charles and Elziabeth Howery. Seven people were baptized and in June 1870 J. M. Wait organized the branch. Charles Howery presiding elder, John Spaulding priest, Samuel Whiteaker teacher, Charles Oliver, clerk. On a later visit Lange visited again and stayed at the Augusta House. The Methodists had become prejudiced and refused his sermons in their church so he met with the group at the saddle shop of Mr Givens. <br/>Members: C. Lang, Catherine and Samuel H.
