description: Cutlerite members from Clitherall moved into Becker County in September 1871 and settled along the Northern Pacific railroad at Oak Lake, just ten miles northwest of Detroit Lakes. B.B. Anderson helped lead this group. On July 12, 1875 RLDS missionary T.W. Smith arrived and began laboring for two weeks in the Audubon area. He preached and baptized seven persons and organized the branch with Henry Way as presiding elder. B. Anderson was called to be the priest and Alma Sherman to the office of teacher. Sister Cutler united with the group. In August, Marcus Shaw was named presiding elder and Henry Way became clerk. The Northern Minnesota District was organized at this time. In 1897 Alexander Hale Smith came to minister to the members of the area. Members: Jedediah R. Anderson, Marcus Shaw, Henry Way. J R.
