1860-1862: dispute over authority over "Lower Weber Valley"
entity #700866, assertion #4026369 by bplewe on 2024-12-17: confidence 100%.
notes:During 1861, there was a dispute over whether Bishop Thomas Thurston had authority over Charles Peterson and the northern part of the valley. Later histories state that on 8 December 1861, Pres. Lorin Farr (Ogden Stake) came and divided the valley into two regional wards. Other sources say this happened in 1863. We have not found reliable sources for either date, but it is clear that the division happened around this time. However, the dispute continues through 1862
