Branch is not mentioned by name, but missionary James Little finds Solomon Hancock's grave in a cove on Joshua Gregg's Farm [north 1/2 of Garner Sec 4 & south 1/2 of Hazel Dell Sec 33] 1 mile NW of John Mahood's Farm [SE 1/4 NW 1/4 Garner Sec 3]

has notes: Primary records mention a branch, but not a settlement. Gideon Brownell was bishop, so could it be the same as the later Brownell's Grove? Both are in the same vicinity (Indian Mill/Mosquito region). Many people have been confused because the ''Bertrand'' was a steamboat that wrecked nearby many years later.
