description: In 1859 the “New Organization” sent William W. Blair and Edmund C. Briggs to minister and reorganize the members. High priests were: William Aldrich, John C. Gaylord, Zenas Whitcomb, Lyman Hewitt. Aldrich pres, Isaac F. Scott clerk, four elders: Anthony Delapp, D. M. Montgomery, Isaac Scott, and Franklin Leonard. In 1863 leaders were: W. Aldrich, pres 18 members: “3 high priests who are members of the high council.” 1 elder, 1 priest, 1 teacher, I. F. Scott clerk. In 1868 David Hyrum Smith was stationed in Burlington as a missionary. In 1870 members were: Franklin Leonard, John C. Gaylord, Milton Stiles, Leveson Stiles, Eliabeth Montgomery, Charles Montgomery, Martha Montgomery, Lovina Helsor, Diantha Rood, Henry Southwick, William Aldrich, Lyman Hewitt. Anthony Delapp, D. M. Montgomery, Isaac F. Scott, Hannah K. Aldrich, Isabella Hewitt, Lucy Hewitt, Chester Smith, Ann Feavel, Wiliam Franklin, Margaret Franklin , Martha Helsor, Joshua Helsor, Sarah Scott, Sarah Mullinder, J. O. Montgomery, Sarah Leonard, Ambose Hicks, Lovina Hicks, David C. Stiles, Sarah A. Stiles. Burlington: 34 members, including 3 high priests, 3 elders, 1 teacher, 1 deacon, 1 baptized, 1 admitted by letter, 1 by vote. J. C. Gaylord, president; D. M. Montgomery, clerk. Resolved that the district clerk procure and insert the needed items of this branch, before delivering the report to the general church recorder.
