notes: Whitehall was platted by Benjamin F. Wing of Pike County Illinois. It was located at the fork of the Trempealeau and Pigeon Creek. Phineas Wright moved here with his family in 1865. They built a mill at the branch. P 272. Benjamin Wright settled upstream a mile at Old Whitehall in 1862. Benjamin died July 25, 1900 and was buried in Jackson County.
