description: The branch was organized November 8, 1876 in the home of Jacob S. Whiteaker, in section 3, Scott township by Elder William Savage, J. H. Lake, and J. W. Wight. Jacob was appointed branch president, Aleric Whiteaker, priest and branch clerk. Most of the members lived in Clayton Twp. Meetings were held in the homes until 1896. In 1896 they built a church building next to the Whiteaker Cemetery. In 1899 the site at Montgomeryville was chosen for the branch location. The old church building was moved to Bell Center when a branch opened up in that town in the 1900’s. Branch moved to Soldier's Grove in 1908. Members of the branch were: Clossons, Hancocks, Langes, Coopers, Andersons, Beebes, Squires, and McDowells, William Savage, William, Lawrence Shedd, Jacob S. Whiteaker, Leonard Houghton.?
