description: The Black River Branch was organized on the 28th day of July, 1883, by Elder Andrew Barr presiding, and John J. Cornish secretary. Bro. Sylvester Cease was called and ordained to the office of priest, by John J. Cornish and Andrew Barr, and chosen to preside over the branch. In the month of July John J. Cornish, Robert Davis, and Francis Smith were going along the road, toward a log schoolhouse, west of Black River and not far from Carsonville, Sanilac County, Black river branch ?
