description: Branch began with the baptism of 8 people by Elders Wm D. C. Markham & Geo W Stanger in May 1887, and included people from Houston & Stewart county. There was one more baptism in 1888 in Humphreys county just before branch records were closed. Church members remained faithful even without a branch and were the basis of the future Turkey Creek branch. ?
