description: Joseph and Emma Smith lived with John Johnson for about a year (Sep 1831-Sep 1832). During this time, this home served as the informal headquarters of the Church, and 16 or 17 revelations were received that are now in the Doctrine and Covenants. The house and farm was purchased by the Church in 1956 and was renovated in 2001, now serving as a public historical site.
