description: Initially (1861), the Logan 2nd Ward was merely a teachers district within a single Logan Ward, having a president. In 1875, they were at least partially separated into modern-like wards, with separate quorums and auxilliary organizations. By this time, Henry Ballard was an acting bishop and often called "Bishop Ballard," although the 2nd Ward did not become a fully independent congregation until he was ordained in 1877.
